“King of Pop” Michael Jackson dead at 50

He’s probably one of the most embattled superstars of his time for the many controversies he’s involved himself with. But he’s also one of the most loved and admired people in the entertainment universe for the number of hits that topped many music billboards since he debuted in the Jackson Five pop group. But today, following his confirmed death due to cardiac arrest, it’s definitely gonna be the saddest day for his millions of fans all over the world!

While he was known for his hitmakers such as Billie Jeans, Black or White, and Thriller among others, he was also widely-criticized for multiple accusations of child abuse to which he eventually battled with an acquittal and sent himself to living in a recluse.

The King of Pop suffered cardiac arrest in his home and was reportedly no longer responsive when brought and admitted to the hospital.

Cafe by the Ruins

If you’ve been to Baguio several times, you must have heard about (if not tried dining) Cafe by the Ruins. This place is located along Chuntug St. and has a very relaxing atmosphere. I first read about it online and made sure to visit the place the last time I was in Baguio City. I love their Fruit Festival dessert, which consist of a generous amount of sweet mangoes, banana and papaya. We also tried their version of Mechado, a concoction of roast beef with gravy, very much in contrast to the usual Mechado w/red sauce we know. And if you want to warm yourself a bit, don’t forget to try their Pinikpikan — sort of like a chicken Tinola for me but they’re using a native chicken for this dish. Below are the pictures I’ve taken when we were there:

No Country For Old Men

If you haven’t watched No Country For Old Men, I recommend you do. First of all, I got to know about this movie not by publicity, but thru my husband. He said it was a good movie based on numerous reviews he read online. So, I decided to give it a try.

No Country For Old Men is a film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel of the same title and stars Tommy Lee Jones (playing Sheriff Tom Bell), Spanish actor Javier Bardem (Anton Chigurh), and Josh Brolin (American Gangster).

The movie follows the character of a Texan hunter Llewelyn Moss, who finds a number of murdered drug runners and a bagful of money while trekking the desert. What Moss did not realize when he decided to keep the $2 million he found, is that a psychopathic hired killer, Anton Chigurh, is out to recover the money, which is easily traced thru a location device hidden underneath those millions of bucks.

If you want a feel-good movie, definitely this isn’t for you. Some may even be put off with the kind of violence it shows. In No Country For Old Men, things happen unexpectedly. It keeps you guessing what will happen next, from the beginning up to the end. This makes the movie rather interesting because it allows you to think and really concentrate on the story.

To be honest, I’m not so much into this kind of movie. I don’t enjoy a movie that doesn’t have suspenseful musical scoring and doesn’t take me back from where I started. But I did like the cat-and-mouse plot and the intelligent treatment of the story in general!

Earn some bucks from Neobux.com

The economic crisis is still far from being over. Which means that anything will help us earn additional income we’re just so happy to grab it. And speaking of earning you would only trust the legit ones, right?
I’ve come across numerous paid-to-click sites recently, and out of 10 only 2 are considered legit. One of these few legit PTC sites is called Neobux.

Before I joined this site I did some Googling first to check on feedback and comments. And I’m just glad that so far, all of the comments I read positively attest that they got paid. Neobux has some good reviews under its belt. While you cannot easily achieve the minimum payout of $2 for the first payout, it’s worth your time.

For one, their minimum payout consistently displayed in the Help page. All terms are easily understood. Right now, I’ve already earned $0.49 and counting. You, too, can earn if you have the patience rather than fall victim to those paid-to-click sites that are nothing but scams.

Mexicali and it’s Chicken Enchilada

The last time my husband and I went to Trinoma mall in Quezon City, we dined at Mexicali before we headed for a movie. It wasn’t the first time I ordered something from Mexicali. In fact, I have already tried their famous nachos before and it’s delicious while it’s still newly served.

This time around I took advantage of their Enchiladas menu and ordered Chicken Enchilada with Rice & Salad (P175). To be honest, I did not realize how big the meal was until it got served to me.

I like the green salad that came with it. It has got some tomatoes and the garlic dressing is so yummy. The chicken enchilada itself is more than enough to fill your hungry stomach. The meal is worth every penny…you should try it, too, the next time you pass by it.

List of Paid-to-Click Scams

Admit it, if there’s any easy-money way you’re the first to grab it. And when we talk about easy-money, paid-to-click sites are the first to come to mind.

But don’t sign up just yet. These days only 20% can be considered legitimate PTC sites, the rest are scams. Below are just three of the many paid-to-click sites that promise to pay, but truth is, you’re just wasting your time:

STORM OF CASH – they show hundreds of paid-to-click ads in their members’ area. Ads range from $0.0005 to $0.0001. But the one thing that would really attract you to sign up is their very low minimum payout: $0.10 for Paypal and $1.05 for Alertpay. But the truth is they really do not pay. You will just waste your time clicking for ads and when you reach $0.10 and ready to request payment you will notice that the minimum payment that would register in your account would change to $0.50 or who knows even more higher once you achieve the current payout.

1DOLLAR PTC – another scam to high heavens. First thing, if you visit their Help page, it’s blank. Then their TOS would say “The cash earned in your accounts is not actual money. Payouts are based on the income of the site.” Says their minimum payout is $5,000. Fine, this is achievable in less than 5 days since they have over 500 PTC ads whose earnings ranges from $6 to $1. But once you nearly achieve their minimum payout, you will notice that the minimum payout amount in your account would change from $5,000 to $25,000. This site is a BIG waste of your time, so don’t even try to sign up anymore to see for yourself. Just Google other members comments who got scammed!

PERFORMANCEBUX – same thing, they won’t pay. You will just waste time, effort, and electricity.

To save you time and avoid having your personal info spread online, check the list of legitimate PTC sites before making a choice. It would also help if you read members’ feedback, whether good or bad, they are valuable.

Storm of Cash is a Scam

These days PTC sites — paid-to-click — abound in the world wide web. But the question is: which are legit and which are not?

One of the PTC sites I’ve joined recently is Cash of Storm. And why not, they have achievable pay out scheme. Unlike other paid-to-click sites, their minimum pay out is only $0.10 for Paypal.

stormofcash2

I have a Paypal account and I want to see if these PTC sites really pay. And since Cash of Storm is one of the very few PTC sites that has very low minimum payout then I guess it’s worth all the clicks. But I was surprised when at a time where I’m supposed to request for payment, the minimum payout under my account has changed from $0.10 to $0.50. Which means I cannot request a payout yet with my current earnings of $0.13310. See my details below:

Right away, I decided to stop clicking on their ads. What they say on their FAQ page in terms of payout if very deceiving. It’s not worth your time!

Katrina Halili sues Hayden Kho for Medical Malpractice

Now, this is the funny part. After the infamous sex video now comes the issue of medical malpractice involving not just Hayden Kho, this time, with the ever-controversial celebrity doctor Vicki Belo.

Alright let’s do a little backtracking. On May of this year, Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili’s sex video circulated the Internet. Not too long after, Hayden-Maricar and the Hayden-Brazilian model videos came out causing shame and controversy to the local tinseltown. A senator, who happened to be also a product of the entertainment industry, demanded for an investigation to find out who leaked the videos in public. Which, by the way, until now remains unclear. Of course, we already know Ms. Halili filed raps against Hayden Kho. Apparently, to give herself some justice.

Fast forward today, Katrina Halili submitted another set of affidavits, but this time it’s for a “medical malpractice” complaints. In her interviews she fervently wanted to have Hayden Kho and Vicki Belo’s medical licenses revoked.

Wow, I wonder what other cases awaits Hayden Kho in patricular. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s not as if I am on Hayden’s side. Truth is, I am in nobody’s side in regards to this issue. What confuses me is that: Why is Katrina Halili bringing up the “medical malpractice” issue just now?

Isn’t the real issue the sex video that shamed her to death? Isn’t it also the very same issue why some political figures are lobbying for the “impossible” passing of laws that would sanction people who takes sex videos and uploading it on the Internet?

While I do not want to discredit Katrina Halili’s pure intention for herself, it makes me wonder if she’s simply taking advantage of her situation to get more out of the controversy. I hope not!

Inboxdollars: A Promising Online Opportunity

Last month, I signed up in InboxDollars as part of my money-making activity and so far enjoying their service. I learned about it from a friend and at first I thought it was just one of those scam online money-making opportunities you’ll find on the Internet. But since sign up is free, I decided to give it a try after reading the website’s FAQ page. The tasks involve to earn money are simple, though I wouldn’t say it’s an easy money-making scheme.

As a new member, you automatically get a $5 sign up bonus. Inboxdollars sends 2 to 3 paid emails to its members per day. Most of the paid emails that Inboxdollars sends to its members will include an opportunity to earn additional money by taking advantage of the offer for the product or service that is being advertised. However, you will earn money for confirming the paid emails regardless of whether or not you take advantage of the offer being advertised.
