Working at Google

I heard my husband say several times before, that landing a job in Google would be a dream come true for him. I didn’t understand why. But when I saw this video, which I am posting together with this entry, somehow I understood the desire. :)

Google is noted as one of FORTUNE’s best companies to work for. And this video gives us the details why. It’s funny, but if you have 18 cafes within your work premise catering FREE meals at all times, 4 fully-loaded gym to burn all that fat and girths, awesome sleeping quarters, a laundry room, and so much more, you probably won’t even feel like you’re working at all. Like what it said “IT’S ALL IN THE HOUSE!”

  1. i WANT TO WORK THERE!!! hehehe UI actually lurke for job posting for me pero ala pa…

  2. goodluck on your search…sarap mag-work tlaga pag ganyan ang environment :)

  3. All of that is attractive…but the one thing that would attract me to Google and which no company in the Philippines has done yet (at least to the best of my knowledge) is that management allows each employee ONE DAY TO WORK SOLELY ON HIS OWN PERSONAL PROJECT that if it succeeds, will benefit the entire company.

It’s like working in ABS-CBN Publishing and then being allowed to spend one day to do research/writing/marketing/fund-raising for a future magazine that I can pitch to ABS-CBN later on.

No wonder Google gets the creative, hardworking geniuses. :)

  4. Yeah all that is nice. But the one thing that really attracts me to Google is that with the company’s blessing and maybe even sponsorship, each employee is allowed one day to work on his own idea/project that in time can benefit the company. Meaning, you are allowed to have your creativity free rein – and with a possible future at that. Wish there were other companies here that were as forward-thinking.

With those perks and that one personal creative day, no wonder a lot of people are lining up to work for Google.
