A little over two weeks ago I have written about my first-ever shopping experience with Barnes&Noble, and expressed my elation with how fast they shipped my order.

Finally, the long wait is over! I now have claimed the book in a local post office facility, which according to their records got delivered on May 28.

my package from Barnes & Noble

Now I remember when my husband, Nel, purchased me a book through Amazon, and it took over a month before I received a notice from our local post office that it’s all ready to get claimed. So I was just about to expect I’d be waiting that long for this one too, but surprisingly, it turned out quick and well.

Overall, I am impressed. And I’m surely gonna leave a nice feedback on their website because they’ve got one happy customer here

Fifteen minutes ago, I placed my first-ever online purchase. And I did it with Barnes&Noble!

At first, I felt naturally nervous for doing so, because having worked with an online shopping entity, I knew the usual customer complaints (e.g. fraud, delayed shipment, lost package, etc.) and I am not sure I am ready to face any potential dilemma concerning my order.

Nevertheless, I braved whatever fears I was initially having, all for the love of books…har har har.

And so I carefully filled out the order form online and reluctantly proceeded to the payment option page. Again, because I don’t want to go through any problem with my order, I made sure to review the order summary details before hitting the submit button.

Less than a minute later, I received the order confirmation email, which, by the way did, not surprise me at all. But what really surprised me is when (in less than half an hour) I received the email telling that my order is scheduled to ship.

Barnes & Noble order confirmation receipt

Whoa, that fast?! Now, I can’t wait to get my book real soon. Wooooohoooooooo

When Starbucks released its 2007 planner, I felt so sorry for not getting one for myself. The following year I waited only to find out that their 2008 edition was no match to the previously hard-bound one they had, so much to my dismay.

Then I heard about Belle de Jour and quickly found their website and the gorgeous planner they released. I scoured The Ramp, Powerbooks, and Coffee Bean, where the planner has been distributed and is being sold, but got only frustrated because it was sold out. Whew, it quickly sold like hot pancakes and I was too late to even place an order to their website. Talk about bad luck!

This year though I made it a point to get one and I made sure to get one as fast as I heard its released date. And voila, got mine at Powerbooks in SM Mega mall.

my pretty Belle de Jour 2010 planner

Just like its previous editions, the 2010 Belle de Jour planner is filled with lotsa coupons you can use in major establishments. What’s more, the planner has some perk-me-up short articles any stressed out chick can relate to, and a separate notepad to jot down daily errands or to do list at work you can post on your workstation.

Yey, can’t wait to start using it for this new year.

Happy new year every one!

When it comes to clothing, whether for men or for women, jeans has always been a staple item and one that never goes out of style. Proof to this is its evolution in style in several different ways, from skinny, to straight-cut, to bootleg, to hipster, etc. It’s just so versatile that you can get it plain, faded, tattered, or best, you can customize it just the way you like it.

Speaking of customized jeans, I recently came across a very interesting site called Getwear.com, which greatly talks about custom jeans and made to measure jeans, and how or where you can get it. It gives a lot of information about customized jeans and interesting facts of some of the most well-known brands we have today such as GAP denim, Christian Dior, GUESS, and Replay among others. Such a nice treat for jeans-fanatic like me!

I have a couple of them. But the one that is most accessible to me and stands out more often is my make-up or kikay kit. I love the feeling of fishing out my make-up kit when I feel bothered and frustrated, whether at work or in any other situations.

my make-up essentials

Lately, I have been so into eye shadow and gentle pink blush. I like a natural-looking fix, so it’s always just between gentle pink and bronze for blushes, and lighter shades of eye shadow to give me a fresh and smiling-looking eyes after a very grueling situation. I like Maybelline’s collection of blush and eye shadows because they don’t make my skin itchy.

I have quite sensitive skin, and putting on make-up easily gives me zits, so I really try to find something that will make my skin stress-free as well. I am also not a brand-conscious type when it comes to cosmetics. For as long as it looks good and doesn’t itch on me, then I’m fine with that.

Right now, I go for Maybelline for eye shadows, blushes, and lip gloss. I am also currently on trial of PAC’s (Professional Artist Cosmetics) powder eye shadow and so far I am loving it!

So there, without a single bit of hesitation I asked for a new stock and wore it.

Simply wonderful!

Several days ago, my friend and I were having our usual little chat online talking about the approaching Christmas holiday season. She was telling me how she wanted her Christmas shopping to be more convenient this time than it was the last time, so, she decided to do online shopping instead. And yes, she’s doing it as early as now to avoid shipping delays. Make sense, huh.

Speaking of online shopping, being a book and a music lover myself, I happen to come across this online books and media store recently, which interestingly offers a very easy browsing system and allows you to find all books and media products you want through their Search our Kindle Store. Isn’t that a cool and fun way to start doing your own Christmas shopping now?!

Yesterday my friend and I were supposed to have our once-in-a-blue-moon weekend gimmick. See, our weekend night-out has stopped since time immemorial, that’s why I’ve called it once-in-a-blue moon bonding.

Unfortunately, with the anticipated onslaught of typhoon “Pepeng” my husband texted me to go home and get some sleep because we’d be picking up our daughter from my in-laws later that day. Which means, me and my friend’s initial plan to spend the night at Bed Space bar in Greenbelt Makati will be put on hold for until…who knows when. LOLZ!

And since I won’t be going anywhere anymore and at that time I was already wandering in SM Megamall I decided to buy something for myself and go home with less frustration in tow. That’s when I remembered this shoes I have been rooting for 2 weeks already.

my new wedge shoes...

I admit, when it comes to shoes, I still have a long way to go to overcome the temptation. And I remember, there was a time when my mum reprimanded me for buying more even if I already have more than enough I can wear in a week. But what can I do, it’s as if these shoes have a mouth of their own that keeps whispering in my ear whenever I pass by them in the mall.

One thing though, despite my addiction in shoes, I do not have any dream of surpassing former first lady Imelda Marcos’ shoes collection, which by the way I’m sure won’t happen at all.

In this hard times where everything seems so high and being pragmatic is still the key to surviving in the current financial crisis we are going through, I still want to believe that rewarding myself isn’t an extremely bad idea especially when I’m too stressed out at work. After all, part of our satisfaction is being able to enjoy our hard-earned moolah! And that’s indeed a statement…lolz.

Yesterday my husband and I were at SM North EDSA trying to pass time because we couldn’t go home due to heavy traffic everywhere caused by the heavy downpour which apparently started as early as 7 am. First we checked out the entire stretch of the Cyberzone for some laptops before we headed the lower ground floors for some clothing lines.

As we passed by Jellybean where they were having 50%-70% sale I couldn’t help but take a curious peek of their merchandise. First of all, I didn’t know until that day that it’s a Fol-ded & Hung (F&H) new brand. Second, I’m surprised they have really nice clothes for petite girls like me. And finally, I’m super happy they were having sale that day, which means I can get myself something within my budget.

In a matter of 5 minutes I was loading some denim pants in their fitting room, which by the way look every bit of a girly room. I probably had 4 denim pants hanging in both my arms and was just too excited to try them all.

My husband was just waiting outside the boutique and signaling whether I’m done or what. I was about to feel a little irritated when I realized their pants have really nice fit on me. I thought in an instant of buying two but decided to buy one and just come back later, minus hubby.

Jellybean is really becoming my favorite these days. I mean clothing-wise, theirs are really nice. They have dresses, shirts, blouses, overalls, and yeah…pants.

I would so love to go back, probably in the coming payday…hahaha
